About

A fixed reference point for vessel and deal decisions.

Clients come to Conscious Marine for accurate assessment of a ship, or honest technical advice on a commercial decision. Our core focus is marine surveys and technical consultancy, with shipbroking and chartering as complementary commercial services.

The practice

Technical depth, practical reporting.

Conscious Marine was co-founded by an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and brings together experience in ship design, newbuilding supervision, classification and statutory surveys, and marine technical advisory.

Our team’s background includes newbuilding survey and project management at ClassNK and Germanischer Lloyd (GL, now part of DNV), and outfit design management at Mazagon Dock Limited. That experience informs how we scope surveys, review technical packages, and advise on vessel and deal decisions.

That experience is hands-on and spans several vessel types, including tankers, bulk carriers, passenger ships and inland navigation vessels.

Conscious Marine is not a classification society and does not issue statutory certificates. Classification and statutory work is undertaken only where the appropriate authority exists.

Scoping, technical review, reporting and advice are delivered by Conscious Marine. On-site inspections are attended by a qualified surveyor, either from our own technical team or an independent surveyor or partner, and we confirm which before work begins.
